Welcome to Friends of Grangefield School (FoGS)!
Who are we?
FoGS is a registered children’s charity (Charity No.1167659) formed in 2016. We are a group of enthusiastic parents, carers, teachers and friends of the school who all give our time on a voluntary basis to organise and run fundraising activities for the school and also the wider community of Bishop’s Cleeve.
Our mission is to raise funds to enhance the school experience for all children at Grangefield. In the past we have built the wooden castle and ship in the playground, provided a school trip to the pantomine, purchased fun activities for playtime and wet play, plus many other items and activities. The funds we raise contribute to our children’s education and enjoyment of school life.
We succeed on the strength of your support and involvement! Without this combined effort FoGS would not be able to support the children in such a special and unique way. Every bit of help counts and there are lots of different ways to get involved. It could be as simple as buying a ticket and coming along to an event or buying a raffle ticket. You might be willing to help out at an event or make some cakes for a stall. Maybe you have some new ideas for fundraising events?
How can you get involved?
Be a Friend
If you would like to find out more about what we do or become involved in FoGS, you are welcome to come along to one of our meetings (ask the School Office for details) or email us.
The FoGS Committee is made up of parents and teachers, formally elected each year at the AGM in September, in line with the PTA Constitution. However, new committee members are warmly welcomed at any time of the year as are new ideas and suggestions for fundraising and fun events!
The FoGS Committee meets at least once a month and everyone is welcome to attend. Dates for Committee meetings are advertised in advance and are very informal, open and friendly, so feel free to come along! FoGS Committee Meetings are generally held at the school.

How you can make a donation?
There are several ways in which you can contribute:-
If you wish to make a monetary contribution, you can do so either by setting up a regular standing order with your bank or by making a one-off donation by cheque made payable to Friends of Grangefield School.
You can further increase the value of the donation you make by completing a Gift Aid Declaration Form, which is available from the school office.
Gift Aid is the government scheme which allows charities to reclaim the basic rate of tax that has already been paid by the taxpayer
Some larger corporate organisations offer their employees a “Grant Scheme” as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Staff can apply for a grant to be paid to a UK registered Charity.
Using easyfundraising is just about the simplest way to raise money for your school. Shop online from over 2,700 retailers and they’ll give us a donation every time you buy something, at no extra cost to you! How does it work…….
Let’s say you want to buy a birthday gift from John Lewis. Instead of going direct to the John lewis website, you log into easyfundraising.org.uk first.
Select your cause (Friends of Grangefield School), then select your retailer to make your purchase. The price is exactly the same as if you’d visited the retailer directly!
After your purchase, John Lewis will give a cash reward which you are turning into a donation for your cause. Easyfundraising then collect this and send it onto us. Simple. So far this year, we have received donations of almost £400!
Contact us if you would like to get in touch you can e-mail FoGS directly, email@example.com
FoGS news, events and meetings are well publicised by the school via a variety of methods including e-mail, text, letters in book bags and the school bulletin. FoGS events are always supported by posters and updates which are displayed on the school Noticeboard.
