Wildlife Quiz

Wildlife Quiz Grangefield vs Isbourne Valley by Dolly and Sam

On 3 March Dolly, Jessie, Josh and Sam successfully made it through the first round of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Quiz. We worked hard and tried our best to achieve an outstanding score of 26-20 to Grangefield.  First of all we paired with our teammates and answered detailed questions on different species.  Further into the quiz we got to meet some peculiar animals and plants that we had memorised with the help of Mrs Kempster (our lifesaver).  We are very proud of ourselves and look forward to the next round.

February 2017 Netball reports

Netball B Team – Report by Evie S and Evie Jane

On Tuesday 7 February, the A and B netball team went to Bishops Cleeve Primary school for a netball match. We were all excited, but nervous because this was the B team’s first ever match. The final score was 3-2 to Bishops Cleeve. The goal scorers were Evie Jane and Evie S and the player of the match was Isabella.

Netball match Grangefield vs Bishops Cleeve

Amazingly Grangefield have triumphed over Bishops Cleeve Primary School. Following an extremely tense match the final score was 10-5. Imogen was our captain and Meghan has successfully managed to achieve player of the match. Bishops Cleeve have been the hardest team so far that we’ve played against in the league.

Netball match report by Meg and Damian

On Tuesday 21 February we successfully won our match against Glenfall Primary School and the winning score was 20-2. 16 goals by Damian with Scarlett, Meg, Charlie and Tomi scoring 1 goal. This takes us through to the semi-finals. Thanks to the parents for transporting us to Glenfall. Player of the match was Tomi (for his excellent defending) and Damian for his outstanding goal scoring ability.

Netball – report by Sam and Charlie

Grangefield successfully conquered Gloucester Road as we triumphed again and got an outstanding score of 18-2. We did very well and Gloucester road gave us a hard match with their amazing defenders and strong shooters. Damian, man of the match, played exquisitely and that got us to where we are now.

Football

Last week Grangefield took on Bishops Cleeve Academy in a friendly match as they prepared for their upcoming league fixtures. The team had been on a fantastic winning streak before Christmas, but knew that this game would be a tough test. All of the team played impressively as they continued their fine performances resulting in a 3-2 victory and local bragging rights J. Grangefield are back in league action again on Tuesday when they take on Greatfield Park.

School Games Sports Award Athletics

Earlier this month we took part in the School Games Sports Award Athletics competition. Children took part in the initial district competition at Tewkesbury School where they performed fantastically taking first place overall. This qualified us to represent Cheltenham in the County event, which took place at Cheltenham College on Wednesday. The children all performed very well and were placed in fourth position overall. A brilliant achievement! A big well done to Connor, Milly and Zak who all achieved a school games value award, receiving honesty, self believe and passion respectively.
