Outdoor Art Day – report by Harry B and Isabelle
While half of Y5 and Y6 were at the tag rugby tournament the rest of the children had an art day. Our main focus was to use our observational and drawing skills to produce our art work based about nature around Grangefield School. Here are some examples of the wonderful artwork we created.
(Y5 – Josh, Ethan, Theo Steven, and James. Y6 – Harry B, Ella, Isabelle Emily, and Amy)

Art Skills Day
During art skills day Year 6 linked their artwork to the book they were studying in English – Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. The children tracked the journey around the world and carefully sketched the different animals that the family saw on their voyage. They also used their mark making skills to create the title for their wonderful piece of artwork.
Autumn Term – Year 6 Artwork
In art we have been studying Lowry – a famous artist who paints pictures which include many different types of buildings. As our topic is called ‘No Place Like Home’ we focused on the buildings and sketched sections from Lowry’s paintings demonstrating our skills in shading and perspective. We thoroughly enjoyed our art sessions and annotating our sketch books.
