Grangefield is an amazing school: kind teachers, kind friends, large library, nice hall, good music room, outside equipment, bike parking and scooters to park, good facilities like copse field, good assembly.

Keeping Children Safe

Keeping Children Safe – Our Core Purpose

We believe that one of the key roles of our school is to provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment which promotes the social, physical and moral development of every individual child in our care, so that they grow up secure, confident and independent.

It is clear, therefore, that the health, safety and well-being of all the children in our care are of paramount importance. Our pupils have the right to protection, regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability.

We recognise that all staff members have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm.

The first point of contact for anyone who has a concern about the safety and well-being of a pupil is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

All concerns regarding child protection issues in school should be referred to Mrs Kydd in the first instance.  This responsibility extends to every member of our community and it is of vital importance that all concerns are reported in confidence without delay to the Safeguarding Team.

Allegations Management

In order to manage allegations against child care professionals, every Local Authority appoints a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). In Gloucestershire the LADO is Nigel Hatten, who is supported by Tracy Brooks, the Allegations Management Co-Ordinator.  Nigel can be contacted on 01452 426994 or nigel.hatten@gloucestershire.gov.uk and Tracy can be contacted on 01452 426320 or tracy.brooks@gloucestershire.gov.uk

Further information and advice can be obtained from the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board or from our Safeguarding Policy.
